The Investment Promotion and Business Linkages Project is a component of the Ghana Employment and Social Protection (GESP) Programme funded by the European Union and designed for an implementation period of five years.

The overall objective of the GESP Programme is to contribute to inclusive growth in Ghana by strengthening social protection and employment systems in the country. Its specific objective is to enhance social protection services, notably for vulnerable population groups and to generate decent employment opportunities, with a particular attention to the youth.

The Investment Promotion and Business Linkages Project contributes to the holistic approach of the GESP Programme and supports the agenda of the Government of Ghana for employment creation through the development of the private sector, namely medium size companies along the agricultural value chain.

The Project is implemented in close cooperation with the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) and the
expected results are:
  • Investment in Ghanaian agribusiness value chains is promoted;
  • Export to Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) markets is developed; and
  • Business collaboration between large agri-processing companies and current or new suppliers is improved
The Project is based in Accra but has national coverage.
